Charitable Projects

Meaford Tree Trust 2023

“The Old Oak of Leith” was my contribution to the Meaford Tree Trust Art Exhibit which was held at the Meaford Hall from July 7th to August 23rd, 2023. The show was a fundraiser to help preserve and care for the Royal Oak that was planted in 1905 in the Leith Historical Church cemetery.

The tree is next to Group of Seven artist Tom Thomson’s headstone. 50% of sales went towards the Tree Trust.

Priya's Butterfly Project 2018

Studio Twenty created 12"x12" paintings of butterflies to raise funds and awareness for the disease Epidermolysis Bullosa. EB is a family of rare genetic disorders that affect the body's largest organ: the skin. The project was organized by Kristina Maus (a Studio Twenty Member) and the paintings were sold in an online auction for a starting price of $200 each.

Canada 150 Project 2017

Each member of Studio Twenty painted a Canadian scene on 12"x12" canvas representing a province or territory in Canada. The references used were from Studio Twenty members' personal photos. My reference was from a photo of Labrador taken by Maureen Munden.

To celebrate Canada's 150th birthday, Studio XX members also painted a maple leaf on a 12"x12" canvas and wrote words around the edges that represented what Canada means to them.
